Stress

This week I had class number two of the second round of dog training with Jaxon. 

Jaxon, our now six-month old boxer, passed puppy school and did very well despite being easily distracted.  VERY easily distracted.  This week we had class number two of the second round of dog training.  The objective is to build on his puppy skills.  Week one he was a model student.  He even acted as model to some of the younger dogs in the class.  What a proud moment for a dog-mom when the instructor picks him to demonstrate a skill!

Work and Play

The weekend was a whirl of activity.  Yesterday I was back at Mum’s, this time with Hubby and his truck of tools.  She has a swimming pool that has been in place for well over 20 years.  Pennsylvania winters pose a bit of a challenge to aboveground swimming pool owners.  Over the years, the ground has shifted, and with it, the supports.  This year the decking was heaved so badly it posed a safety hazard.  We had the task of disassembling the deck on her swimming pool, attempting to re-level the supports, and reassemble the deck.

Mowing The Lawn

Yesterday was a day full of tasks.  Most of them were a bit time-consuming.  One item on my list was mowing the lawn.

Mowing our two to three acre lawn is a therapy of sorts… a three-hour therapy session.  The session started with the trusty Toro push mower.  I pushed the old red mower around the house, getting into the nooks and crannies that evade the bigger riding mower.  When I was satisfied I had allowed myself enough room around the house, trees, and other lawn obstacles, it was time to fire up the Husky.

Slowing Down

“There is never enough time to get everything done!”  Sound familiar?  We have become a society of multi-taskers.  The more we can get done, the more we are praised for the accomplishment.  We use technology, fast food, fast cars… whatever it takes to get more done in less time.  I too have been “that girl”.

Today my brain is spinning.  I’m walking through the house performing my usual routine.  I’m awake before 6:00 AM, big glass of water, make smoothies for Hubby and me while listening to my morning meditation, and look at “the list” for the day.

Remember When?

Last night Hubby and I drove to Slippery Rock, PA to meet friends at North Country Brewing Company for dinner.  The place has a great history in that small town.  It’s a rustic dining establishment/brewery with awesome woodwork, friendly wait staff, and an easy atmosphere. They have a farm-to-table menu with selections for everyone.  The food was good, and the beer cold and enjoyable.

Questions

It is a glorious Monday morning here in northwestern Pennsylvania, USA.  The sun has been shining, the birds singing their morning songs, and I have been a busy girl since first light.  I love early mornings.   It is during the morning hours that I feel most productive and ready to go!  After a great gym workout, I drove home reflecting on my weekend, and re-evaluating what I am doing day to day.
