The List
Submitted by DamselflyToday my brain is spinning. I’m walking through the house performing my usual routine. I’m awake before 6:00 AM, big glass of water, make smoothies for Hubby and me while listening to my morning meditation, and look at “the list” for the day.
I hear Hubby’s alarm sounding its annoying screech…. For the second time.
After finishing my smoothie, I sit at the computer to compile follow up emails to clients summarizing their nutritional strategies. I determine I’ll swing by the gym this morning to meet with the owner and pick up my fresh eggs (thank you Gravel Run Farms!), and I’ll take Jaxon the fur-baby along for the ride to give him an adventure away from the house… and work to wear down some of his puppy energy!
Should I blog today? Hubby’s alarm should be sounding off… and doesn’t. Hmmm.
After I shake Hubby awake (I’m an alarm clock?), I head back to the computer. Yes, I’ll blog… After I take Jaxon out for his morning constitution.
I revel at the skill of my multi-tasking. It is my super power.
While looking at my list for the day, I realize that my multi-tasking determines my flow. I can move from task to task almost like a dance. I use “the list” to check off each step made through the day. With each task checked, my brain spinning slows down. What is my greatest challenge? Assure I build a list I can manage!
Keep it simple?
Today won’t be a “simple” day, but it will be a good day. I have the power to make each day a good day. I can be happy and satisfied with my life. My choice. I look at my list now with a sense of accomplishment of what I have already achieved in only the first hour of my day.
The washing machine is now churning away (another check on the list).
I will use my list for good and not evil. I will remain positive in mind and spirit, grateful for the physical ability to complete these tasks uninhibited. As my brain comes in to a more comfortable spin, and is no longer a distraction, I can move on today.
Today is wonderful. Check.
